Our favourite Bavarian fashion collections in 2014

Our favourite Bavarian fashion collections in 2014

Ah, spring is coming: the beer gardens are open, the sun is popping in to say high every now and then, and – yes – most of the dirndl and lederhosen collections for 2014 have now been presented. Which means, of course, that we can get down to the serious business of comparing them and showing you our favourites.

So which lederhosen and dirndls are going to be in this summer? Which collections are implementing which trends? Or, most importantly: what takes our fancy?

This is where we give you a quick run-down on this year’s Bavarian fashion so that you don’t have to go looking! So read on and be inspired for this year’s Oktoberfest.

The lovely ladies at Trachtenbrummsel are in fifth place this year, mainly due to their wide range of cool accessories such as scarves and key-bands in Bavarian style. They kind of owe us a dirndl design for 2014 at the moment, though, which stops them placing higher. Take a look at what they do have here.

4. One collection that is not running short on dirndls is Trachtenhit. With a range of pastel, classic, refreshingly timeless dresses, this is a range for those of you in the market for a dirndl that will still be stylish in years to come. See what we mean here.

3. In third place is year, the punningly named sister of Schwe Stern. It’s the very of-the-moment aprons that have attracted us above all, with two-colour looks and plenty of trendy prints, as this selection shows.

2. And because the guys in the team are starting to complain about the lack of men’s collections up until now, we’re giving number two to Alpenkult: the 2014 collection is once again filled with fun items like these ties in Bavarian alpine style. Why not bring a breath of fresh mountain air into even the dullest of meetings with one of these babies?

1. Now, to make sure that both guys and gals are happy with the number one, we’ve gone for a full stockist with a collection that will cover you from head to toe, regardless of whether that toe is in Bavarian boots or ballerinas. Yes, that’s right: our favourite Bavarian fashion collection for 2014 is here, and it’s Stockerpoint.

Lederhosen both for him and her, dirndls, blouses, aprons, shirts and tees, Haferlschuhe boots, pumps and heels, scarves and calf-warmers, Charivari charms and even Bavarian knives: everything you need for an Oktoberfest outfit is here – in classic form with a distinctly fashionable streak of 2014 thanks to new colours and cool prints. I mean: what more do you want?
