Round-up of Oktoberfest package tours 2014

Round-up of Oktoberfest package tours 2014

After our piece last year on package deals to the Munich Oktoberfest, we noticed a rise in clicks, and so here’s a “back by popular demand” piece on going to Munich in the care of qualified experts this time round! Since we’ve noticed that our readers are not just UK-based, however, we’ve decided to widen our remit to cover Oktoberfest package tours 2014 from other starting points, too.

We headlined the UK tours last year with the subline “Not for the faint hearted”, and we stand by that. Pillow.co.uk, for example, is titling this year’s tour with “Sleeping is cheating” and the video makes it pretty clear that no-one is going to be tucked up in bed with a cup of cocoa by 10pm. It’s also not worth forgetting that these guys will put you up on a campsite: not a massive issue, but always remember that for every hot, late-summer’s day at the Oktoberfest, there’s a chill alpine night…

The Travelholics, who we profiled last year too, are also offering a tour this year. If you want to check out what you’re in for, they’ve got a lively video from last year – and a handy list of all the stuff you’ll get, from all-you-can-eat breakfast every morning in the hostels they use for accommodation through to an Oktoberfest t-shirt and “like-minded people to party with”. And once again, they’re offering both three-day and five-day itineraries (at remarkably stable prices compared to last year).

Those after an altogether more luxury tour should, as with last year, take a look at FirstFestivalTravel, who offer flight-packages with hotel rooms. And those of you who have to fly a long way – i.e. from the States, South Africa, or Australia, have several all-inclusive options offering more than just a few days to make your trip to Europe worthwhile. Courtesy of the likes of FOMO Travel and toursgonewild.com, there are some particularly decadent packages involving both the Oktoberfest and Ibiza… As with last year’s round-up, with Oktoberfest package tours 2014, we have to stress that this kind of travel is not for the faint hearted.
