The Oktoberfest 2013 – Our impressions

Today and tomorrow, we thought that, rather than writing lots, we’d just show you how the Oktoberfest 2013 looks from where we are sitting. If you didn’t make to the Wiesn this year, then you can have a vicarious look around – and if you’re here too,  maybe this will give you some ideas for the last few days.

So first off, the coolest outfits today, with a look round the beer tents tomorrow.

What we loved about the outfits this year was the sheer amount of really traditional Bavarian clothing doing the rounds. Some years, it seems like a competition for ever louder and ever shorter dresses, but this year, we saw some great developments on originals.

Gotta love this: beautiful but traditional dirndls – and charming girls in them, too!

The lederhosen on these strapping lads were probably worn by their great grandfathers before them – and look just as dapper on younger guys!

We love the new-style patterned fabrics and cool colours here – tradition, but with a twist.

Both the knee-length and the shorter lederhosen here, with matching haferlschuhe shoes: classic!
