Oktoberfest t-shirts for Bavarian girls

Oktoberfest t-shirts? “Oh no”, we here you cry, not those hen-party things with printed phrases? “Never be caught dead in one…”

Neither would we! But it you’re looking for casual wear for the Oktoberfest that is still in the spirit of the whole affair, then there are some really good t-shirts and other kinds of tops out there. After all, a full-blown dirndl isn’t for everyone! As much as we love these Bavarian dresses, we’ve had several years to convince ourselves of how good they are. Oktoberfest first-timers might just want something to turn a pair of jeans into a suitable outfit. Then there are those of us who are anything but Oktoberfest newbies, but who just don’t do dresses. If that’s true of you, then you’ll be looking tops to match other Bavarian fashion items such as leather shorts and landhaus skirts.

If you’re in the market for Bavarian tops and Oktoberfest t-shirts, then read on as we show you three types and the looks to wear them with.

This type of Oktoberfest top is the perfect way to up a pair of jeans or denim shorts into a proper Wiesn outfit – without going all Heidi! In fact, if anything, this kind of piece has more of a Country & Western feel to it than anything and can also look good heavy denim skirts or other rustic pieces.

If you decide to go for one, remember that the backbone of every bodice is, in fact, at the front: pay attention to the details on the drawstrings at the front. You should be looking for eye-catching ribbons, bands, hooks, and catches, as this is where the top will be most eye-catching (that’s right – just below your cleavage…). And although many of these lace-up front are actually just decorative, some of them can also actually help you get a slimmer silhouette…

Some of the most up-to-date models this season are also appearing with patches and prints as part of the general 2014 trend towards additional features in Bavarian fashion.

Blouse look

A good, starchy blouse with ruffles may be very traditional, but is not particularly comfortable and certainly won’t suit anything except a skirt or Bavarian dirndl. Nevertheless, a lot of us might not feel comfortable wearing a simple t-shirt to a beer tent. This is where cotton shirts with blousy elements such as flounces and trim come in: soft and comfy like a t-shirt, with just enough festive detail to make jeans and t-shirt into a proper outfit – especially in combination with the new 2014 trend: jeans in lederhosen look.

For those of us who just love a proper t-shirt, Bavarian fashion in 2014 is going in just the right  direction. Lots of the new models feature trends from recent years such as unfinished hems, thin fabric, and broad print. Whether worn to spice up a standard pair of jeans, or to give the finishing touches to a pair of short ladies’ lederhosen, these Oktoberfest t-shirts are so stylish that you’ll never get mixed up with the hen parties: guaranteed!
